What can you say about a park where the pipe gets better every week. We had campers almost crying on the last day of camp when we told them that the pipe was going to be dozed the day after camp ended. "It's better than the pipe we have at home" was the most heard line of the summer. Our pipe gets cut every single night and is the best pipe you will find anywhere in the summer.
Arena Snowparks built the 2010 Olympic Halfpipe where 6 of the top seven finalists ( we just the silver) were former or current campers and coaches. He also built the pipe for the World Championships so you know he has skills. Steve Petrie the head of Arena Snowparks flies and drives all over the world building the pipes and parks for resorts on what seems like every continent. No one builds a halfpipe or 1/4 pipe like Arena.
Last year instead of building a 22 foot superpipe like we traditionally did, we built a 15 foot mini pipe so that it was more fun to learn in. We found that all though 22 foot super pipes are great for Olympic and Tour riders, they were turning people off halfpipe because the level of commitment required to have fun in them was so huge. Building the "Mini Pipe" was the coolest thing we've done in a long time. It was the first time in years that there was lines of campers waiting to drop in instead of lines of pros. Camp is for campers more than it is for the pros.
Gigantic Quarterpipe
Because Whistler gets so much snow every year, we build a gigantic 1/4 pipe as well as the pipe. The sessions that go on in the 1/4 are so fun. There always seems to be a "Learn Inverts" session going on.
Private, and the only pipe in Whistler
One of the best things about the COC Pipe is that it is private. It isn't shared with the public or any other camp. You don't have to worry about an over crowded pipe (or park) at COC. The Camp of Champions has the only pipe in Whistler.
The T-Bar runs right beside the COC Park so you never have to hike - unless you want to. Use your energy learning new tricks instead of hiking.
